Over-arching principles |
- The name of the club shall be The Widnes Flyers
- The objectives of the club will be to:
- To ensure all flying is carried out in a safe and responsible manner
- Providing support and un-biased guidance to new and novice members
- Promote the club and the sport of model aircraft flying
- Treating fellow members with respect
| Membership |
- The annual subscriptions are due at the end of December and must be paid by February 1st of the following year, If membership is not renewed by this date the full joining fee will be payable
- The cost of the subscriptions will be decided at the AGM for the following year.
- Persons under the age of 16 must pay the joining fee, but no subscriptions will be payable until their 16th Birthday
- The committee has the power to revoke the membership of any member whom, in their opinion, or in the opinion of the members, brings the club into disrepute. The committee shall only follow the prescribed route after first discussing and attempting to resolve the issue with the member in question
- BMFA insurance is mandatory. The following would be accepted as proof:
- Being a member or joining the club
- Producing a current BMFA certificate
- Visitors or those new to the sport may fly at the field (max. 3 visits per year)
| The Committee |
- The committee shall be elected at each AGM and will hold office for one year. The committee will consist of:
- Executive posts: Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer
- Two Safety officer posts: Fixed wing and helicopter (all appointments being honorary)
- The Chair has a casting vote, which he/she may use in any meeting were votes for and against a proposal are equal
- The Secretary shall keep all minutes of meetings and shall ensure these are available to the members after the committee verifies them as being a true representation
- The Treasurer shall receive and pay all monies due to or by the club, and shall keep a correct account of the finances, in paper and an electronic back up
- At least one month prior to the AGM, the Treasurer must submit all documentation so that a fellow member may audit and report their findings to the remaining club members at the AGM
- All withdrawals of funds from the nominated account must be supported by at least two authorized signatories
- The Committee has the power to call an EGM when necessary of which every member will be informed
- Committee meetings shall be held as necessary, but not less than 4 times a year. All disputes shall be settled by the committee, who will have the authority to make such by-laws, which may be necessary for the well being of the club

- The Widnes Flyers adopts the BMFA policy for protection of children. Applicants for membership under the age of 18 will be considered for membership after a parent or legal guardian commits to accompany them at all times at the club
- No member shall operate any model aircraft which is likely to cause annoyance or damage to any person or property or that will contravene terms and conditions of the BMFA insurance
- A competent member of the committee must be allowed to check all models for airworthiness prior to its maiden flight
- Either the committee or a signed representation of at least 33% of the membership may call an EGM at any time. The secretary will then give notice of the date and venue giving at least 21 days notice detailing the reason(s) for the EGM and what is to be discussed and voted upon.
- The Widnes Flyers will accept no liability for any damage or injury howsoever caused. All members must obtain their B.M.F.A. insurance via the club, or provide verification that they have current cover each year
- Members will be asked to sign an agreement form that their membership details may be kept electronically for administration purposes only. The Widnes Flyers guarantee that your details will not be sold or otherwise passed on to anyone outside of the club
- Club membership will be limited at the discretion of the committee and will be reviewed at each committee meeting
- A simple majority shall determine all votes. In the event of a tied vote, the Chair may exercise a casting vote
| Termination of the club

- In the event that the club should be disbanded the following actions are required:
- The committee must agree that action
- An EGM will be held where the members* are able to discuss and vote on the proposal. The majority must be in favour of the proposal before it will be passed.
- The committee will be tasked to sell all plant and equipment belonging to the club and obtain the highest values for these items
- After all outstanding debts are settled each member* will receive an equal amount of the clubs remaining assets
- The treasurer may at his/her discretion round this value down to the nearest pound, with the balance being donated to a charity, nominated by the chair
